Grads Update, Yule 2008
Welcome to the Yuletide update of what Schola is up to. Two of the workshops are proving rather more difficult to assemble that their Instructors anticipated , so the Shamanism and Kaballa courses will not be offered in the upcoming Winter session after all.
On the upside, we found that the spells being discussed in Elements and Magic were too complex to assign as homework, nor did we want to make the course any longer by including hands-on working circles for each element. The working circles have therefore been broken out into a separate series of classes to be called OPS-212: Elements and Magic – Practicum.
This means we have three Schola courses running in the upcoming semester: OPS-100 (obviously not of much interest to you folks ); OPS-210: Elements and Magic – Theory; and that course’s working labs, OPS-212: Elements and Magic – Practicum. OPS-210 is scheduled to run in February, or whenever I have enough registrations to start. Due to space constraints this class is limited to 6-8 people, so if you want to take it this Winter I suggest you email me soonest.
We have also registered a domain of our own and moved the Schola website to http://ottawa.paganschola.org. The somewhat silly convenience address of schola.isgreat.org will be retired once the prepaid account runs out. Until then, schola.isgreat.org will auto-forward you to the new location. Do update your bookmarks. 🙂
As we moved our site, we also turned forums and private messaging back on. The forum software being used is different from what I am accustomed to, so please bear with me as I learn how to use the new program. For the time being, it’s a very basic forum structure and visible only to registered users. You’ll see it on your User Menu after you log on.
