Ottawa’s Pagan Community has been around since at least the early 80’s (I arrived in 1985 and it was well established by then).
Got a question? With more than 600 members, our Ottawa area Yahoo! Groups: the Ottawa & Gatineau Pagan Peer Group, Ottawa Pagans Online, Pagan Pride Ottawa, or Red Maple Grove are a great resource! The links provided will take you to each group’s sign-on page. Go ahead, you’ll find our community quite welcoming.
Do you want to join in?
Whether newcomer or old hand, Paganism is more fun shared with others. When you’re ready to move beyond a solitary pursuit; ready to make the jump to meeting with like minded others, whether just socially or to share ritual space, there are many ways to join in. Most local activities are posted on Facebook:
- the monthly brunches (all links take you to Facebook pages) —
Ottawa Pagan Brunch East (1st and 3rd Sunday of each month in private homes) &
Ottawa Pagan Brunch West (1st Sunday of every month at Buster’s Bar and Grill); - the monthly Ottawa Pagan Meet & Greet (on hiatus since the pandemic — some message activity, however);
- the Ottawa Pagan Conference used to meet annually but hasn’t done so since the lockdowns in 2020. The website still posts some Pagan activities, though.
- and our annual Kaleidoscope Gathering (1st weekend of August at Raven’s Knoll campground); — all of which date from the late 80’s
- the Ottawa Pagan Meet & Greet ‘s website OTOH is a smorgasbord of locale Pagan activities, events & shops, isn’t hosted on Facebook (though most of its links are) and includes links to quite a few post millenial activities. ((What can say, I’m an old git ))
That’s all you absolutely need to know if you’d like to find Ottawa’s Pagan community.
