After 10 years it looks as if our OPS-100 course, as originally designed, has achieved the saturation point amongst local Pagans — well done Team!
Back in 2003, Kristina’s objective was to provide some basic instruction to a few dozen people who had ready access to Pagan rituals, but not to the esoteric theory which underlies them. The Hermetic school sort of grew out of that as she tapped knowledgeable, but perhaps overly enthusiastic, help.
Kris’ original objective is how a 100-level course came to have prior experience of Pagan ritual as a prerequisite. As we ran out of those folks, and as fresh faces joined our community, we increasingly encountered rank beginners who needed an Intro to Paganism mini-course to meet OPS-100’s prereq.
Now that we’ve saturated that original market, we’re looking to revise the old course to drop its traditional prereq. The easiest way to do that is to start with the Intro to Paganism mini-course — replacing the old OPS-100’s introductory pre-class, usually called Lesson 0 — and roll directly into our former Lesson 1.
We have two courses on offer for the Fall session:
- Our new, expanded Ritual Basics (OPS-100) to be held Thursday evenings if we get 10+ applicants, or on an evening yet to be determined if we have fewer. Either way it’ll be starting in the 3rd week of September (the 16th if Thursdays), and
- Introduction to the Elements (OPS-110) with David, also starting mid-September.
