2015 Winter

This Winter sees a revamped course registration system starting with a list of every course currently on offer (front tab) plus another list of every course we have in our catalogue (back tab). This is a free piece of software with certain “eccentricities” such as being able to sort Current Courses by any of the tab headers, but not All of Our Courses — which currently insists on sorting alphabetically by course title. I’m working on that.

The website now tracks how many spaces remain in each of our Current Courses and will display a Book Now button as long as there are seats available. Clicking on a course name will take you to its catalogue description and more details on who is teaching it, when, where and how many seats remain. Plus another opportunity to book the course if any spaces remain. If the course is full or has already started, there will be a note to that effect.

When you register for a course, the software will fill in your personal details if you have an account with us (and log in), but you do not have to create an account to register for a course — it’s a convenience for those who have web accounts, not a requirement. If you’re interested in a course not currently on offer, i.e. listed on the All of Our Courses tab, there’s an option to add yourself to the wait list for an opening. When the course is next offered, you will receive an update and an invitation to join the class.

Upcoming Courses

We have one course on offer this Winter:

  • An alpha test of David’s new course Introduction to Astrology (OPS-125), starting early January.

And another planned for early Spring:

  • Intermediate Ritual (OPS-200), expanding on the materials in OPS-100 which is a prerequisite for this course, running on Thursday evenings starting in March.

For more information on either course, follow the hyperlink to its online description.

Quick Update: Someone in the Russian Federation seems to have taken exception to our little school and keeps crashing the website. And I keep putting it back up with some new wrinkle designed to keep them out. This weekend’s wrinkle seems to be keeping them out, so I’ve put the Test version up where y’all…

We’ll also be doing Intermediate Circle (OPS-200) in the Winter session if enough applicants commit to…

Welcome to the start of a new academic year! I thought that for a new year I’d add a new look and feel to our admitedly old website style. A few features available in the spring haven’t made it into the update yet. Bear with me as I play with this in my copious spare…

The website recently upgraded from Joomla! 2.5 to 3.3, though most changes happened behind the scenes where it makes my job somewhat easier but is completely invisible to visitors. As part of an overall cleanup, I plan to add couple of overview articles to our main page with hotlinks to articles buried in the menu…
